Author and Illustrator
Gillian McClure’s career as an author and illustrator spans over four decades. Her books have been translated into many languages and Selkie, published originally by Doubleday, won the US Parent’s Guide to Children’s Media Award for Outstanding Achievement in Children's Books.
Some of her picture books, like Tom Finger, published by Bloomsbury, have the atmosphere of a fairy tale; timeless and placeless. Others, like Cinderlad and the Sea Dragon and Selkie are inspired by folk tales, yet relevant to children today.
Gillian uses her stories and illustrations to inspire children to read and write.
